Scotch Bonnet presents…
Soom T (Renegade Masters, Jahtari, Scotch Bonnet)
Fri 22nd June 2012
Tickets: £6 adv. from the Scotch Bonnet Shop / £8 on the door.
“The Scotch Bonnet session descends on Nelson Mandela Place once again, with
Glasgow’s very own microphone mistress Soom T reporting for duty. Residents
Mungo’s Hi Fi & Chungo-Bungo will be providing rough & tough selections all night
Soom T’s soulful singing and politically charged mic chat have scored her
innumerable hits – including many killers on our Scotch Bonnet imprint, her long time
collaborating partners Jahtari and now on her own Renegade Masters label. Her
fiercely independent approach has shunned the music industry machine in favour of
proper soundsystem sessions which have taken her to every corner of the world.
A best buddy of ours since longtime, we wanted to properly celebrate her return
to Glasgow – don’t miss out on the banter and your last chance to hear the rig in
Scotland before the summer.”
We recently finished broadcasting on Subcity Radio, and you can listen to the last show in full, with a full tracklist, by clicking on the image above.
Download soon come.
The fourth in our series of films as part of Scotch Bonnet Records, this one covers March’s session with Digitaldubs.
The film takes a different route from previous pieces, combining interview footage with Digitaldubs main man Marcus and shots from the session itself.
Best yet, we think.
We’re delighted to confirm our appearance at Outlook Festival this August in Pula, Croatia.
Outlook’s considered by many to be the best bass music festival in the world, and after looking at this years line up it’s hard to argue with that. We’ll be nicing up the Mungo’s courtyard, set time TBA.
Reggae is the music.

Iration Steppas (the Vanguard of Dub).
Friday 25th May
69 Nelson Mandela Place, Glasgow G2 1QY
Tickets: £8 adv from Scotch Bonnet Records
“It’s time for the return of the Vanguard of Dub to Glasgow, as Mark Iration passes through Chambre 69 inna year 3000 style.
Iration’s heavy-steppers stylings are legendary in the world of soundsystems. From their rammed out Subdub residencies in Leeds and London, to tour dates in every corner of the globe, using self released productions and countless killer dubs, the vibe of Iration is always on point and unique. Mark’s last set in Glasgow nearly tore down the Art School a year early, now it’s time for him to give Chambre 69 a workout on the Mungo’s system.
Residents Chungo-Bungo and Mungo’s Hi Fi will be bringing rough and tough selections as always, along with decor ace Produ[k]t making sure the vibes are just right inside.”
